Shop Description

The Company “DoubleGlass Longboards” was born out of the following opportunities observed and then addressed by two Australian brothers that share a long-term passion for surfing, water sports and healthy living. • The need for high performance surfboards to cater for the “Heavy set” (80kg +) young (12 to 30 years) athlete, not just the “fly weight” grommet. • The need for “Easy to paddle” surfboards for existing (30+ years) surfers who joined the surfing boom during the 1970’s and 80’s. • The “aging and fattening” demographic of Australia who are now once again committing to light exercise to improve their health and want to pick up their former love for water sports again. • The continued regression of “manufactured finished quality” of existing boards produced within South East Asia. Their primary goal is to drive costs down at the expense of quality. They market their boards as “light weight” but in reality all they have done is minimized the “shelf life” of the boards that they make. How many times have you picked up a board in a shop and it feels like it's going to dent or melt in your hands? Fast board?.......more like fast food! The DoubleGlass Longboards range of boards addresses these issues and more by embracing engineered design and ensuring each product is manufactured in accordance with a strict quality process utilizing only the highest class materials.
